VISION

A TECHNICAL INSTITUTE WITH A FOCUS ON EXCELLENCE IN ACADEMICS, RESEARCH, INDUSTRY COLLABORATION AND NURTURING HUMAN VALUES IN STUDENTS.


MISSION

  • Formulate & implement curriculum that ensures high academic standards.
  • Provide infrastructure that meets academic & advanced research requirements.
  • Collaborate with national, international institutions, laboratories and industries through student and faculty exchange programs and internships.
  • Undertake consultancy projects that are relevant to the state & nation.
  • Impart human values, awareness of environment and sustainable solutions in students and faculty.
  • Nurture innovation, entrepreneurship, leadership & resource management skills.
  • Implementation of choice based credit Scheme (CBCS) from III year onwards (open elective/interdisciplinary electives). Motivate students to score minimum 60% marks or B grade to be able to participate in On-Campus placement.
  • Revision in Syllabus for ME courses.
  • 50 % of regular faculty shall publish ONE journal/conference paper/year at National or International level.
  • Min. THREE Ph. D thesis submissions from GEC this year.
  • Efforts will be made to improve placement, in 2019-230 job offers were made to GEC students, this year, most of the placement is in on-line mode across the state, region or national level.
  • Complete remaining infrastructure works in electrical and computer blocks.
  • Two interdisciplinary research teams will be formed (a) Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) (b) Advanced Communication(5G)
  • File three provisional patents applications.
  • Complete the NBA assessment this year for all programs
  • Implementation of internship for final year students as per Choice Based Credit Scheme (CBCS). Continue to motivate students to score min 60% marks or B grade to be able to participate in On-Campus placement.
  • Revision in ME Programs – Apply for increase in in-take for Structural Engg; reduce ME programs to TWO in ETC department.
  • 80% placement for computer, Electronics and Information Tech. 60% placement for Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engg.
  • Regular faculty shall publish ONE journal / conference paper/year at National or International level.
  • Motivate faculty to complete Ph. D degrees, enrolment of qualified faculty as Guides in Goa University.
  • Apply for NIRF and NAAC
  • Complete infrastructure work related to Placement & Training Centre.
  • Research projects funded by AICTE/DST and filing of additional patents in SHM and Adv. Comm areas.
  • Three consultancy project per department; Emphasis on Incubation and Startups.
  • Apply for Academic Autonomy for GEC.
  • Enhance funded research projects in every department.
  • Achieve nearly 90% placement.
  • Achieve nearly 100 % admissions to all ME programs.
  • International collaboration for internship, student and faculty exchange program.
  • Consultancy project in all departments in collaboration with state government and industries.
  • Six start-up companies to be incubated on campus.
  • Emphasis on digital library, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
  • Establish NABL recognized testing facility in Civil and Mechanical Engineering Department. This will enhance testing and consultancy projects.
  • Establish Centre of Excellence (CoE) jointly with Department of S&T on Artificial Intelligence & Communications systems.
  • Strengthen Alumni network to enhance knowledge sharing and placement.
  • Research and Innovation shall be strengthened.
  • Increase the number of recognized and IITs in join R&D.
  • Research Advisory Committee, consisting of experts and reputed scientists for national laboratories will mentor GEC faculty members.
  • Emphasis will be on creating e-journal, e-books facilities and digital repository of books.
  • In addition to Engineering Education, students will be imparted with soft skill training – communication, ethics, human values, leadership skills.
  • Faculty will be sent for specialized training in their respective domains of engineering and pedagogy.
  • International and National conferences will be organized for increased visibility for Goa College of Engineering.
  • Placement and Industry Institute Interaction will be given high priority.
  • In association with Industries – workshop and laboratories will be upgraded and training will be conducted on regular basis to students and industry representatives in advanced areas such as modeling and simulation of communications systems, robotics, and structural analysis.
  • Industrial training is mandatory for all students for minimum period of 6 months.
  • Students and faculty members shall be involved in societal activities.
